How we prepare panels for courier collection
Every order is checked before it leaves our Montague Gardens base. Panels are counted, grouped by room or wall, then wrapped to reduce scuffs, edge damage and moisture exposure during transit. For larger or fragile orders, we may separate items into multiple cartons so the load can be handled more safely by the courier team.
Because some panels are light but bulky, the packing format depends on the material, panel size and total quantity. Where needed, we add corner protection, shrink wrap, foam layers and clear labelling so the receiving team can see what belongs to each parcel. This helps when panels are going to homes, offices, retail spaces or sites with more than one delivery point.
- Panels are checked for finish, colour and quantity before packing
- Each box is labelled for easier sorting on site
- Fragile items receive extra corner and surface protection
- Multi-box orders are grouped so nothing gets missed
What nationwide courier shipping covers
We courier panels nationwide from Cape Town to major centres and outlying towns across South Africa. Delivery times depend on the destination, service level and how quickly the courier moves through the route, especially when there are weather delays or load-shedding related backlogs at depots. Western Cape deliveries are usually quicker, while inland routes can take longer depending on distance and handover points.
Courier delivery covers the transport of packed panels from our workshop to the address provided on the order. It does not include offloading onto upper floors, unpacking, wall preparation or fitting unless arranged separately. If your project is time sensitive, such as a shop fitout, office handover or a staged installation, tell us early so we can plan the dispatch properly.
- Service is available for residential and commercial addresses
- We can send to homes, sites, warehouses and offices
- Delivery is door to door, subject to courier access conditions
- Extra handling may be needed for large or oversized orders
Before dispatch: details that help avoid delays
The fastest deliveries happen when the order details are complete and accurate. A wrong suburb, unit number or contact person can delay a drop by a full day or more. If the address is in a gated estate, multi-tenant building or industrial park, please include gate instructions, access times and any site contact details needed for receiving. This is especially useful in Cape Town, the Northern Suburbs and business areas where deliveries may need security clearance.
We also recommend confirming whether the panels must be delivered to reception, a loading bay or directly to the work area. Some buildings have strict municipal or body corporate rules for deliveries, and the courier may need a booking window. If your order is going to a coastal area like the Atlantic Seaboard, we can also advise on storage after delivery so packaging stays dry and clean.
- Check the delivery address and postal code carefully
- Give a receiving contact name and working number
- Share site access rules, lift use or loading bay instructions
- Let us know if the panels must arrive by a certain date
Receiving your order at home or on site
When the parcels arrive, inspect them before signing if the driver allows time for a quick check. Look for visible dents, punctures, torn wrap or wet packaging. If the boxes are intact but you suspect a problem, note it on the delivery paperwork straight away. This creates a clear record and helps us assist you properly.
Do not store panels directly on damp floors or against unsealed walls, especially in coastal humidity or partly completed buildings. Keep them flat, in a dry room, away from direct sun and standing water. If the panels are going to sit for a few days before fitting, leave them in their packaging until the installer is ready. That keeps dust out and helps maintain the finish.
- Check box count against your order as soon as possible
- Photograph any visible damage before unpacking fully
- Store panels flat in a dry, shaded space
- Keep packaging until the full order has been reviewed
Checklist for installation after delivery
Once the panels are on site, the next step is to confirm that the surface is ready. Wall condition matters because uneven plaster, loose paint and damp spots can affect adhesion and final alignment. If the wall still needs prep, set the panels aside safely until the surface has been sorted. That extra step saves time later and reduces waste.
For commercial projects, it helps to stage the panels in the same order as the layout plan. This is useful for repeat patterns, acoustic zones and feature walls with cut-outs around plugs, edges or display fittings. A clean unpacking area also makes it easier to count off every piece before the installation team starts. We recommend keeping the carton labels with the job file for future maintenance or repairs.
- Confirm wall prep is complete before unpacking all cartons
- Match panels to the layout plan or room list
- Keep a small offcut or spare panel for future touch-ups
- Store labels and order details together for reference
If a parcel is late, damaged or missing pieces
If something looks wrong, contact us through the enquiry form on our contact page as soon as possible with your order details and photos. The sooner we know, the easier it is to trace the shipment and help with the next step. In many cases, the issue is a courier delay or a parcel that was separated during handling and turned up later at the depot.
For damaged items, do not discard the packaging until the matter has been reviewed. For missing pieces, keep the full count on hand and check all cartons again, including labels on the outer wrap and any smaller inner packs. We handle aftercare support for these situations and can advise on the most practical fix whether the order is going to Sandton, Stellenbosch, Paarl or a site in Somerset West.
- Report concerns as soon as the delivery is received
- Keep photos of packaging, labels and damaged areas
- Retain all boxes until the order has been checked
- Only begin fitting once the full order has been verified
